Data Collection & Usage
The Plywood Calculator Chrome extension by SmartCutList does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All calculations and user preferences are processed and stored locally on your device using the Chrome Storage API (chrome.storage.local). No information ever leaves your browser.
What We Store Locally
The extension saves your calculator preferences (input values, unit selections, waste factor, and currency settings) locally in your browser so they persist between sessions. This data is:
- Stored only on your device
- Never transmitted to any server
- Never shared with any third party
- Fully deleted when you uninstall the extension
No Third-Party Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or transfer any user data to third parties. The extension makes no network requests and operates entirely offline.
Permissions
The extension requests only two permissions:
- storage — To save your calculator preferences locally between sessions.
- sidePanel — To display the calculator in Chrome's side panel.
No other permissions are requested. The extension cannot access your browsing history, tabs, cookies, or any website data.
Security & Transparency
The extension is fully compliant with Chrome Web Store policies and Manifest V3 requirements. The source code contains no obfuscated or remotely hosted code. We do not collect:
- Personally identifiable information
- Authentication or payment information
- Browsing history or web activity
- Analytics or usage tracking data
